A Bittersweet Goodbye

Two long years have gone by since Homer and Angel, our ring-necked doves came to live with us at the shelter. Over that time, they had become part of the shelter family...greeting visitors, charming children, and surprising everyone when they laughed. They even put up with me and the other cats when we climbed on their cage to watch them (and maybe drool just a little). we said Goodbye to Homer and Angel when they went to live in their new home. A very good friend of the Oromocto and Area SPCA recently lost her beloved dove and when she called us to say she would like to adopt Homer and Angel, we didn't hesitate to say Yes! We know that they will have the VERY best of care and love. And even though we know that they were happy living with us, we like knowing how happy they are going to be for MANY years to come with Kim! time you come in to visit...the bird cage will probably be empty. Waiting for the next souls who need us. Maybe I'll be allowed to name them this time!
